Dry Eyes

This time of year, many people begin to notice their eyes have a scratchy feeling, a feeling that something is in their eyes, watery, burning, stinging eyes, sensitivity to light, fluctuating blurred vision, or red, bloodshot eyes. These may be a sign of dry eye disease. A number of factors contribute to these problems, but the cold and wind outside can often make things worse. There are a number of treatments available for dry eye disease, including punctal plugs to decrease drainage of tears from the eye, and prescription eye drops to improve tear volume and quality.
